Wednesday the 16th of September was a bluebird day at Mt Hotham and Lewington House resident Mrs Joan Condon wasn’t going to let the good weather go to waste. After a delightful lunch in Dinner Plain Joan, who turns 97 next month, travelled to Hotham with our Diversional Therapist, Robyn Walker, to spend the day on the slopes with her family. One highlight of the day for Joan was being able to watch her two great grandsons ski ‘The Summit’ of Mt Hotham. “It was lovely watch the two little boys. Those kids will be good skiers by the time they are 5” said Joan. Skiing is a past time Joan has only given up in fairly recent times and although she may have retired it seems the whole family is following in her tracks.
Also on the highlights reel for the day was a meeting with old friend and local legend Zirky. Joan had the pleasure of meeting Zirky when he first moved to town and he was only too pleased to see her out and about for the day.
With 4 generations on the slopes the family drew a bit of attention from the crowds so Joan had the opportunity to chat with many of Hotham’s skiers and snow boarders before returning home to the warmth of Lewington House.
